Sun 3rd June Milton Pools Cambells

Remenhams new season kicked off with the monthly winners final at

Milton Pools last week. Graham Dodd continued his good form from last season to win the match with 166lb 3oz of mainly carp caught close in on the pole with meat and pellet.In a close battle for second place Steve Johnson edged out Mick Hutt with 147lb 10oz to Micks 145lb6oz.Section winners were Paul Howard 109lb 2oz and Mark Bowles 124lb7oz.

 

Sun 10th June Whitehouse         

The following week weights were much lower at Whitehouse Lake with only 28lb 8oz needed to secure victory and once again it was Mr Dodd who took the honours fishing the pole with caster catching a mix of carp tench and skimmers.Second was Dave Whiteman with 24lb 6oz of carp and third was Nigel Smith with 23lb 2oz of carp and skimmers.Section winners were Ade Bowles 14lb 14oz Justin York 22lb 8oz and Paul Howard 16lb10oz.

 

Sun 17th June Bowsaw

Graham Dodd continued his fine form last weekend at Bowsaw near Odiham as he won the third Remenham match in a row this season with 89lb 6oz of carp all caught on the method feeder cast across to the island.A very close second and only 4oz behind was Trevor Pearce also with carp weighing in 89lb 2oz all caught close in on the pole on meat.In third was Dick Shilitto with 74lb of carp caught mostly on the method feeder.Section winners were Nigel Smith 66lb 12oz John Hobbs 65lb 8oz and Dave Whiteman 73lb 12oz.

 

Sun 24th June Frobury Farm

Graham Dodd continued his domination of the Remenham matches as he won at Frobury Farm finishing well ahead of the field with 73lb 10oz of carp all caught tight across to rushes on the long pole using caster and meat.In second was Trevor Pearce with 45lb 2oz of carp and third was Ade Bowles with 38lb 8oz.Section winners were Dave Whiteman 31lb 10oz and Steve Johnson 38lb 2oz.

 

Sun 1st July Milton Pools Cambells Lake

Last Sunday Remenham anglers visited Milton Pools to fish Cambells lake.Dave Whiteman drew peg 1 in the corner and fished shallow with pellet to catch mainly carp for 166lb 4oz for a convincing win. In a tight battle for second Ade Bowles was in the opposite corner and just held off Nigel Smith's challenge with 125lb to Smith's 124lb 11oz. Section winners were Paul Howard 121lb 3oz Graham Dodd 111lb and Steve Johnson 95lb 15oz.

 

Sun 8th July Billhook

Remenham anglers fished Billhook Lake at Bowsaw near Odiham on Sunday in the fifth leg of the summer still water series.After a quiet first half of the match Trevor Pearce switched tactics to fish his inside swim and caught a succession of sizable carp on the pole to overtake the rest of the field to finish in first place with 96lb10oz.In a close second was Mark Bowles who fished the pole with meat tight in the corner of peg 1 against the reeds to also catch carp for a total of 91lb and in third place was Steve Johnson with 87lb10oz of carp taken on the pole and method feeder.Section winners were John Hobbs 64lb14oz,Nigel Smith 71lb and Dave Whiteman 66lb10oz .

 

Sun 15th July Wood Lane

Wood Lane lake near Iver was the venue for Remenham's latest match on

Sunday the sixth leg of the summer still water series.On the day the pellet waggler proved to be the top tactic as the top three anglers all used this method to good effect and it was Dick Shilitto who came out on top with 108lb12oz of carp and skimmers ahead of Graham Dodd with 93lb12oz also with carp and skimmers and third was Trevor Pearce with 87lb 4oz.Section winners were Roger Howard 22lb12oz Ian Chaplin 75lb10oz and John Hobbs 69lb14oz.

 

Sunday 22nd July Alders Farm Match Lake

The seventh leg of the summer still water series at Alders Farm proved to be another close tussle for top spot. Although weights were down on last years colossal catches 4 anglers still managed to weigh in over 100lb.Trevor Pearce fished pellet between five & six meters to land 80 small carp for 168lb12oz to win just holding off Steve Johnson with a similar net for 163lb 15oz also caught at six meters with pellet.In third place was Graham Dodd with 110lb 8oz.

 

Sunday 29 July Bowsaw

Mark Bowles won his first match of the season at Bowsaw on Sunday with 127lb of carp caught mainly on the inside edge with meat and feeding hemp.In second place for a second week was Steve Johnson with 122lb 14oz also with carp including 2 "doubles" fishing close in with meat and in third was John Hobbs with 102lb 2oz of carp and tench.Section winners were Dick Shilitto 69lb9oz Trevor Pearce 90lb8oz and Paul Howard 84lb.

 

Sunday 5th August Whitehouse

The first week in August saw Remenham anglers visit Whitehouse Lake at

Tadley which proved to be a low weight match with only one angler

finding the fish feeding consistently.This was John Hobbs who weighed

in 56lb 12oz of carp,tench,bream and barbel all caught on the pole

with pellet for a comfortable win.In second place was Ian Chaplin with

24lb 8oz of carp and bream caught on a combination of the pole and

method feeder with pellet and corn and in third was Ade Bowles with

20lb 6oz caught on the pole with meat.

 

Sunday 12th August Alders Farm Match Lake

The following week Remenham traveled to the prolific Alders Farm

Fishery at Great Bicknell where the sport was considerably better as 7

anglers weighed in over 100lb and in excess of 200lb was needed for a

top 3 finish.Leading the way and back to winning ways was Graham Dodd

who landed 91 carp on the pole close in using meat and paste for an

impressive weight of 275lb.In second place was Paul Howard with 263lb

14oz consisting of 130 smaller carp caught on the pole at 4 meters

with pellet and red maggot.In third was Steve Johnson who fished the

pole with meat at 5 meters  for 232lb 6oz.

 

 

Sunday 19th August Billhook

John Hobbs kept the pressure on the leaders as he won the match fishing the method feeder with meat to weigh in 107lb 12oz of carp. In second place just 2lbs behind was Mark Bowles with 105lb 12oz of carp caught in the margins on the pole with meat & in third place was Dave Wightman using similar tatics for 84lb 4oz. Section winners were Trevor Pearce 75lb Ade Bowles & Nigel Smith both with 66lb.

 

Sunday 26th August   Wood Lane 

It was the pellet waggler that provided the top weights in this match with Graham Dodd leading the way with 164lb 3oz of carp & skimmers. In second place was Steve Johnson with 130lb 2oz & third was John Hobbs with        113lb 8oz. Section winners were Paul Howard 92lb 8oz Ade Bowles 106lb 12oz

& Trevor Pearce 53lb 8oz. Graham Dodds win ensured that he won the Summer Stillwater Series.

 

Sunday 2nd September Bowsaw

This was the first leg of the Chairmans Trophy. The match was won by Dave Wightman with a weight of 142lb 10oz of carp caught close in on the pole with meat, which was well ahead of Steve Johnson in second place with a weight of 77lb 14oz, in third place was Brian Bowles with 60lb 2oz. Section winners were

Graham Dodd with 56lb & Dick Shilitto with 49lb 2oz.

 

Sunday 9th September Cambells Lake, Milton Pools

Trevor Pearce fished the pole at 5 metres and on the inside with soft pellet to bag mainly carp for 110lb 10oz to win the match holding off Steve Johnson with 99lb 6oz of carp caught on the pole with meat, in third was Ade Bowles with 96lb 14oz also with carp caught on paste & pellet tight to the near bank.

Section winners were Dick Shilitto with 83lb 12oz, Dave Wightman 80lb 5oz

& John Hobbs with 95lb 14oz.

 

Sunday 16th September    Wood Lane

Once again it was the pellet waggler that dominated all the top placings at this venue & once again it was Graham Dodd who lead the way with 151lb 8oz of carp & skimmers comfortably clear of John Hobbs in second with 117lb 8oz. In third place was Trevor Pearce with 79lb 12oz. Section winners were Steve Johnson 68lb 2oz & Nigel Smith 58lb 14oz.

 

Sunday 23rd September  Watmore Farm

A late change of venue due to a double booking meant that Remenham visited Watmore Farm for the first time.With wet and windy conditions the fishing proved to be hard work with some anglers struggling for bites although this was not the case for match winner John Hobbs who despite losing 14 carp still managed to land several to double figures on the feeder and pellet waggler to weigh 71lb 10oz.In second place was Graham Dodd with 57lb of carp all caught on the pellet waggler & third was Trevor Pearce with 46lb 10oz of carp also on the pellet waggler.Section winners were Steve Johnson 36lb 2oz & Ade Bowles 30lb 4oz

Sunday 28th October    Whitehouse

On Sunday Remenham anglers fished Whitehouse Lake at Tadley in the ninth round of the Chairman's Trophy.Match winner on the day was Dave Wightman who fished the pole at 11 meters with pellet and meat to land several carp for 43lb6oz.In second place from the next peg was Trevor Pearce with 27lb2oz consisting of carp and skimmers caught on the pole with meat and in third was Brian Bowles whose 4 carp weighed in at 23lb4oz.Section winners were Ade Bowles 11lb9oz Ian Chaplin 8lb2oz and John Hobbs 12lb.

 

Sunday 4th November Milton Pools Lens Lake

Remenham anglers travelled to Milton Pools on Sunday to fish Lens Lake ,with high winds and heavy rain for most of the match conditions were far from ideal.Graham Dodd started the match on the method feeder but after landing just 1 carp in the first hour then switched to the pole and fished shallow with caster to add 190 roach and small skimmers for a total weight of 35lb4oz.Two pegs away was Dave Whightman who fished the pole across to the lily pads with pellet and his net of carp skimmers and roach also weighed 35lb4oz thus tying with Dodd for first place.In third place was Paul Howard who landed several carp on the pole with pellet for 33lb2oz.Section winners were Dick shilitto 31lb4oz and  Steve Johnson 21lb3oz.After 10 rounds of the Chairman's trophy the top five points scorers are John Hobbs 173 Dodd

 

Sunday 11th November Bowsaw 16-29

Bowsaw lakes near Odiham hosted the latest match in Remenham's Chairman's Trophy the eleventh in the series.Series leader John Hobbs increased his lead at the top by winning the match comfortably with 37lb6oz consisting of 6 carp all caught on the method feeder cast to the island with corn on the hook.In second place was Ian Chaplin whose 5 carp and 1 chub totaled 21lb10oz also caught across to the island on the method feeder and in third was Trevor Pearce who fished the pole at 10 meters with corn and pellet to weigh 19lb of carp and chub.

 

 

Sunday 18th November Rolf's

Last Sunday Remenham anglers fished Rolf's Lake at Holton near Oxford in the penultimate round of the Chairman's Trophy.With a hard overnight frost the match started slowly with the resident large carp reluctant to feed and it wasn't until the second half of the match that the carp started to show.After losing three Ian Chaplin then landed two double figure carp and four smaller ones plus two skimmers on the pole at 14 meters with red maggot for a total of 61lb10oz to win the match.In second place using similar tactics was Dick Shilitto who had one carp and several bream for 25lb1oz and in third place was Ade Bowles who also had carp and bream for 23lb15oz.Section winners were Dave Wightman 14lb10oz and John Hobbs 23lb3oz

 

Sunday 25th November Whitehouse

This match saw Dave Wightman secure an emphatic victory landing 7 carp for 34lb 8oz more than the other 11 anglers weights added together!Pegged in the middle of the road bank Dave fished the pole at 14.5 meters using red maggot and soft pellet.In second position was Graham Dodd who was pegged in front of the small car park opposite the island.His 2 skimmers and 1 tench weighed 8lb 2oz caught on the pole on double pinkie at 10 meters.In third place was Ian Chaplin also on the road bank next to Dave who fished the pole at 13 meters with red maggot to land 1 carp and 1 tench for 7lb 6oz.

Section winners were Henry Golas 5lb,Steve Johnson 4lb and Trevor Pearce 5oz.

 

Sunday 2nd December Barton Court

This week saw the start of the winter series with the first visit this season to Barton Court.With very high water levels in conjunction with a hard overnight  frost and gin clear water,bites were of a premium.Steve Johnson fished both the feeder and pole both with red maggot to land 2 bream plus roach and skimmers for a modest winning weight of 9lb.Second place went to Mick Hutt whose 2 late big perch caught on maggot on the pole next to a sunken tree  boosted his weight of small roach to 7lb 6oz.And in third with 6lb 10oz of roach and skimmers caught on the pole with red maggot was John Hobbs.

Section winners were Graham Dodd 4lb11oz and Roger Howard 6lb1oz.

 

 

Sunday 10th December Milton Pools Cambells & Chargoi

This week the venue was Milton Pools with Cambells Lake and Chagoi lake being fished.It was Chagoi lake that was the place to draw as the top three weights all came from this lake.Top of the pile was Dave Wightman who caught carp and silverfish steadily throughout the match on the pole with soft pellet for a clear victory with 54lb 14oz.In second place was new member Paul Passander who alternated between soft pellet and red maggot on the pole to land a mixture of carp and silverfish for 34lb 4oz and in third was John Hobbs with 14lb 7oz caught on the pole with maggot.Section winners were Graham Dodd 12lb,Mark Bowles and Brian Bowles 7lb 4oz.

 

Sunday 16th December Billhook 1-15

Remenham A.S. fished the 3rd leg of the winter series on Sunday when they travelled to Bowsaw Lakes near Odiham to fish Billhook Lake.Dave Wightman drew peg one and fished the pole at 16 metres with soft pellet landing 2 carp before switching to fish the reeds in the corner to add a further 6 carp for a total weight of 30lb 8oz to win his second match in a row.In second place was Ian Chaplin whose pole caught 3 carp and 2 large skimmers weighed in at 17lb and in third place was Graham Dodd with 11lb 8oz consisting of 2 small carp and silver fish.

 

 

Sunday 23rd December Bowsaw 1-15

Last Sunday Remenham held the fourth round of the winter series in conjunction with their Christmas Fayre match at Bowsaw Lake near Odiham.With a milder spell of weather the fish were more in the mood for feeding so weights were an improvement on previous weeks with most anglers catching well.Top man on the day and winning all the spoils was Dick Shilitto who alternated between the pole and method feeder to land carp and chub on corn and pellet for a total of 57lb 4oz.Close behind in second was John Hobbs with 51lb 14oz of carp and chub all caught on the open end feeder with maggot and corn and in third place was Steve Johnson with 43lb 8oz consisting of carp caught on the pole and method feeder.Section winners were Mark Bowles 38lb 6oz,Ian Chaplin 43lb 6oz and Graham Dodd 37lb 8oz.

 

 

Sunday 6th January 2013 Barton Court

The first match of 2013 saw Remenham anglers travel to Barton Court Lake at Kitbury near Hungerford to fish the 5th leg of the winter series.With the resident skimmers and larger bream unwilling to feed in any numbers this was a close match with mainly the smaller fish being caught.One angler who did find some larger fish was Graham Dodd who landed 4 sizable skimmers late on on the feeder to add to roach and perch caught on the pole with caster for a total of 13lb13oz.Unfortunately this was only enough for second place as Steve Johnson's net of roach and perch caught steadily throughout the match at 14 meters on the pole with pellet totalled 14lb14oz enough for a narrow win.In third place was Henry Golas with 13lb 7oz of roach and perch caught on the pole at 12 meters with maggot from an un-fancied peg.Section winners were Dave Wightman 11lb 6oz and Roger Howard 6lb 15oz

Sunday 13th January 2013 Whitehouse

A change in the weather provided much colder conditions for Remenham's match at Whitehouse Lake at Tadley on Sunday which proved to be a low weight affair with three anglers failing to catch at all.Winner on the day was Dick Shilitto who fished the pole at 12 meters with maggot to land 4 carp for 15lb.In second place was Mark Bowles who fished similar tactics and weighed in 2 carp for 8lb10oz and in third place was Trevor Pearce whose skimmer bream and perch weighed 3lb4oz.Section winners were Graham Dodd with 3lb 4oz and Ian Chaplin with 3lb 8oz.

Sunday 27th January 2013 Bowsaw 1-15

With the previous weeks match cancelled due to the snow and icy conditions this week saw the eighth leg of the winter series for Remenham held at Bowsaw Lake.Dick Shilitto opted to fish the method feeder with hair rigged meat and caught steadily throughout the match landing seven carp and several small chub to record a comfortable win with 33lb 9oz.In second place was Dave Wightman with two carp plus chub and perch caught on the pole with red maggot for 15lb 1oz and in third place was John Hobbs with 13lb consisting of  small carp and chub

 

Sunday 3rd February 2013  Barton Court

The ninth leg of Remenham's winter series was fished at Barton Court on Sunday and once again this venue produced a silver fish match with very few bonus larger fish being caught.Graham Dodd was one angler who did land a bonus fish, a perch of 2lb to boost his net of roach and small skimmers all caught on the pole with maggot and caster to a match winning 8lb.In second place was Dick Shilitto whose catch of roach also on the pole with caster totalled 7lb and in third place was Dave Wightman who had a blank first half of the match and only started to catch regularly in the last two hours to weigh in 6lb 8oz of roach.

 

Sunday 10th February 2013 Whitehouse

The last two weeks have seen the tenth and eleventh rounds of Remenham's winter series.First up it was Whitehouse Lake at Tadley  where Trevor Pearce triumphed fishing the pole at 14 meters with maggot and pinkie to weigh in several carp plus skimmers for a total of 28lb 8oz.In second place was Mark Bowles who weighed in 25lb 10oz consisting of 6 carp caught on the pole with red maggot and in third place was Brian Bowles who weighed in 20lb 10oz of carp caught on both the pole and method feeder including a specimen of 12lb.Section winners were Henry Golas with 11lb 2oz and Dick Shilitto with 19lb 12oz.

 

Sunday 17th February 2013 Milton Pools Cambells & Chargoi

Next up it was Milton Pools with both Cambells Lake and Chargoi Lake being fished.Mick Hutt was pegged on Chargoi Lake and fished the pole both long and down the inside bank with caster and caught carp and silver fish steadily throughout match to weigh in a match winning 89lb 12oz.In second place was John Hobbs pegged on Cambells Lake fishing the pole with maggot and pellet to weigh in 65lb 2oz of carp and silver fish and in third place was Roger Howard with 57lb 1oz of carp and silvers from Chargoi Lake.Section winners were Dave Wightman with 48lb 3oz Dick Shilitto with 53lb 4oz and Ade Bowles with 54lb 14oz.With just two rounds remaining in the winter series John Hobbs retains a narrow lead with 166 points just ahead of both Dave Wightman and Dick Shilitto with 163 each with Graham Dodd in fourth with 158 points and in joint fifth with 131 are Steve Johnson and Ian Chaplin.

 

 

Sunday 24th February 2013 Bowsaw 1-15

The penultimate match in the Remenham winter series took place at Bowsaw Lake near Odiham on Sunday.Winning his first match this season was club Chairman Roger Howard who opted to fish the straight lead with 8mm boilies and landed two double figure carp plus several smaller to weigh in a total of 50lb 9oz just ahead of Graham Dodd in second position who fished the open ended feeder with red maggot to land 18lb of chub plus several carp up to 11lb for a total of 45lb 4oz.In third place was Ade Bowles who fished similar tactics to Dodd from the next peg to record 34lb 8oz of chub and carp.

 

 

Sunday 3rd March 2013  Whitehouse

Sunday saw last leg of the Remenham winter series fished at Whitehouse Lake Tadley and with a sharp overnight frost the anglers were faced with a layer of ice topping the lake so the cutting and breaking of the ice had to be completed before any fishing could commence.Henry Golas drew the middle peg on the island and fished the pole at 11 and 13 meters with red maggot and after a baron first half of the match eventually landed several large skimmers and bream before adding two sizable carp for a match winning total weight of 29lb 14oz.In second place pegged on the road bank was Dave Wightman whose five pole caught carp totaled 20lb 2oz and in third place was Roger Howard with 18lb14oz of carp and skimmers.Section winners were Gramam Dodd with 8lb 9oz and Dick Shilitto with 12lb.The final league positions proved to be very close after twelve rounds and with each angler dropping their two worst results. Dave Wightman's second place gave him a total of 171 points putting him ahead of the previous leader Graham Dodd on 170 only to find Dick Shilitto's fourth place had also given him 171 points therefore tying with Wightman for top spot so it was to be decided on weight over the series with Wightman edging out Shilitto 236lb 6oz to 216lb 1oz with Dodd in third and John Hobbs in fouth with 166 points.

 

 

Sunday 10th March 2013  Barton Court
