4th JUNE FINAL MILTON POOLS (CAMPBELL'S)

Remenham's new season started with the final of the medal winners series on Campbell's lake at Milton Pools. Dick Shillitto took the honours with 170lb 4oz of carp landed on the pole at 4 metres with maggot and groundbait. In second place was Paul Howard with 139lb 12oz of carp caught on the pole at 6 metres with meat and on the inside with maggot,,and in third place was Pete Bowles with 111lb 12oz of carp.

 

11th JUNE FROBURY FARM (MATCH LAKE 2)

Frobury Farm at Kingsclere provided the venue the following week for the first match in the Summer Series. Paul Howard took maximum points as he landed small carp from the off on the pole at 8 metres with meat and later switching to the inside with maggot weighing in a total of 110lb 8oz. This was ahead of dick Shillitto in second position with 85lb of carp landed on the pole fishing across to the opposite bank with pellet and in third place was Roger Howard with 30lb 3oz.

 

18th JUNE WHITEHOUSE

The second leg of the Remenham Summer Series was fished at Whitehouse Lake at Tadley on Sunday in scorching conditions. Winner on the day was Pete Bowles who weighed in a mixture of carp, tench and bream landed on the pole at 13 metres with worm and also on the inside margins with maggot totalling 62lb 4oz for a comfortable win.In second place was Dick Shillitto with 38lb consisting of carp, bream and tench caught on the pole at 14 metres across to the island with meat and in third place was Steve Johnson with a similar net totaling 29lb 8oz landed on the pole with corn and maggot. Section winners were Trevor Pearce with 18lb 8oz and Ian Chaplin with 25lb 8oz.

 

25th JUNE CHERITON FARM

Remenham's third leg of their Summer Series was held at Cheriton Farm near Farley Hill with Mark Bowerman taking the honours on the day with  206lb 12oz of mostly carp with a few skimmers mainly caught on the inside on the pole with caster.This was ahead of Ade Bowles on the next peg fishing similar tactics with paste landing carp and skimmers weighing in 165lb for second place and in third place was Steve Johnson with 155lb 12oz of carp caught at 12 metres on the pole with pellet.

 

2nd JULY BOWSAW 1-15

Bowsaw Lake near Odiham was the venue for the fourth leg of the series. Winner on this occasion was Dick Shillitto who fished the method feeder with pellet across to the island landing carp for a total of 157lb 6oz.In second position was Pete Bowles with 96lb 10oz of carp caught on the pole with meat at 5 metres and in third place was Geoff Edwards with 79lb 12oz of carp.

 

9th JULY  FROBURY FARM (MATCH LAKE 2)

Frobury Farm near Kingsclere provided the venue as Remenham fished the fifth leg of the Summer Series on match lake 2. Mark Bowerman fished the pole at 13 metres shallow with pellet on what proved to be a difficult day landing carp for a winning weight of 66lb 10oz. In a close second place was Mark Garnet with 62lb of carp caught on the pole fished across to the far bank with pellet and in third place was Pete Bowles with 44lb of carp caught on the pole at 5 metres with meat.

 

16th JULY MILTON POOLS (CAMPBELL'S)

Cambells Lake at Milton Pools was the venue on for the sixth leg of the series and the resident carp proved to be in the feeding mood as weights were much improved all round. Winner on this occasion was Steve Johnson with a mainly carp net totalling 250lb 8oz caught predominantly on the pole at 4 metres with pellet. Pete Bowles fiished in second position weighing in 206lb 8oz of carp and skimmers caught on the pole against the adjacent bank with pellet and in third place was Paul Howard with 158lb 4oz of carp landed on the pole with meat.

 

23rd JULY BILLHOOK 1-15

Billhook Lake near Odiham was the venue as Remenham's Summer Series continued with the seventh leg being fished. Dick Shillitto fished the pole at both 5 and 8 metres with meat and pellet landing mostly carp for a winning total of 109lb 15oz. In second place was Roger Howard with 89lb 15oz of carp caught on the method feeder with pellet and in third place was Justin York with 75lb 3oz of carp also caught on the method feeder with corn.

 

30TH JULY  WHITEHOUSE

The following week Whitehouse Lake near Tadley provided the venue for the eigth leg of the series. Winner on this occasion was Pete Bowles with an impressive net which included a double figure grass carp along with the more usual carp varieties totaling 162lb 10oz all caught on the pole fishing across to the rear of the island with corn. This was well ahead of second placed Mark Bowerman with 72lb 8oz of carp caught on the pole close in with pellet and in third place was Steve Johnson with 61lb 13oz of carp,skimmers and tench landed on the pole with pellet and maggot.

 

6th AUGUST BOWSAW 16-29

Remenham's Summer Series continued with the ninth leg being fished at Bowsaw Lake near Odiham. Ian Chaplin took maximum points as he fished the method feeder with pellet and corn casting across to the island landing carp to double figures totalling 144lb 13oz. In second place was new member Mark Harrison with 95lb 14oz of carp landed on the pole at 5 metres with corn and in third place was Ade Bowles with 80lb 10oz of carp caught on the pole with meat.

 

13th AUGUST CHERITON FARM

Cheriton Farm at Farley Hill was the venue as the series entered its tenth leg on Sunday, and this time it was Pete Bowles who took top spot with 226lb 5oz of small carp and skimmers landed on the pole close in with maggot and caster. In second place was Mark Bowerman with 165lb 3oz of carp and skimmers caught on the pole mostly down the edge with caster, and in third place was Steve Johnson with 153lb 8oz of carp landed on the pole with pellet at 13 metres shallow.

 

20th AUGUST MILTON POOLS (CAMPBELL'S)

Geoff Edwards took the honours with an all carp net of 205lb 2oz caught mostly on the pole short and on the inside with maggot. In second place was Steve Johnson with 176lb 12 oz of carp landed on the pole short at 6 metres with pellet and in third place was Pete Bowles with 153lb 7oz of carp caught on the pole at 6 metres with meat and maggot.

 

27th AUGUST BILLHOOK 16-29

Geoff Edwards secured victory the last match of the Remenham Summer Series fished at Billhook Lake near Odiham recently with 97lb 6oz of carp and skimmers all caught on the pole with maggot and corn fished close to the lillys at 6 metres. In a close second was Pete Bowles with 95lb 11oz of carp and skimmers landed on the pole at 7 metres with meat and maggot and in third place was Steve Johnson with 61lb 6oz of carp caught on the pole with pellet. Bowles's second place confirmed his place at the top of the points table winning with 187 points ahead of Steve Johnson in second position with 175 points Dick Shillitto in third with 167.

 

3rd SEPTEMBER  BOWSAW 1-15

Mark Bowerman made the most of his swim in the opening leg of The Chairmans Trophy as he drew the same peg as the previous Monday in the Rodney Pook Memorial match and used what he had learnt on that occasion and fished the pole at 12 metres shallow with pellet landing carp steadily through match weighing in a winning total of 173lb 2oz. This was well clear of second placed Paul Howard with 109lb 7oz of carp caught on the pole at 6 metres  with corn and pellet while in third place was Geoff Edwards with 103lb 1oz of carp landed short on the pole with corn.

 

10th SEPTEMBER  MILTON POOLS (CAMPBELL'S)

Steve Johnson took maximum points in the second leg of Remenham's Chairman's Trophy held on Campbell's Lake at Milton Pools, catching carp on the pole with maggot and pellet at 6 metres and on the inside weighing in a total of 249lb 11oz. In second place was Geoff Edwards with 224lb 15oz of carp caught mainly on the inside with maggot on the pole and in third position was Paul Howard with 179lb 11oz of carp.

 

17th SEPTEMBER  FROBURY FARM (MATCH LAKE 2)

The following week weights were considerably lower as Remenham visited Frobury Farm near Kingsclere for the third round of the series. Steve Johnson was triumphant again fishing the pole across to the adjacent bank with maggot catching small carp weighing in a winning total of 50lb 3oz . Dick Shillitto finished in second place with 45lb 10oz of carp landed on the pole at 10 metres with corn and on the inside with meat and in third place was Paul Howard with 41lb 3oz of carp caught on the pole with maggot.

 

24th SEPTEMBER BILLHOOK 1-15

Billhook Lake near Odiham provided the venue for the fourth round of the Remenham Chairman's Series and it was Mark Harrison who after a slow start caught carp on the pole down the edge with groundbait and corn took top spot weighing in 70lb 11oz. In second place was Ade bowles with 55lb 2oz of carp landed on the method feeder with pellet and in a close third place was Geoff Edwards with 54lb 11oz of carp caught mainly on the inside with groundbait and corn.

 

1st OCTOBER HOLME GRANGE

The fifth leg of Remenham's Chairman's Series was held at Holme Grange near Wokingham and it was Dick Shillitto who dominated the match landing carp on method feeder with pellet weighing in a winning total of 154lb 12oz. In second place was Geoff Edwards with 88lb 8oz of carp caught on the pellet waggler and also on the pole with corn and in third was Steve Johnson with 81lb13oz of carp caught on the pole with pellet.

 

8th OCTOBER BOWSAW 1-15

The following week Bowsaw Lake near Odiham provided the venue for the sixth leg of the series and it was Dick Shillitto who once again secured top spot with 114lb 7oz of carp caught at 6 metres on the pole and on the inside with corn and groundbait. In second position was Mark Harrison with 85lb 1oz of carp landed on the pole with pellet and groundbait and in third was Ade Bowles with 71lb 6oz of carp caught on the pole with corn.

 

15th OCTOBER NEW BARLOWS

Remenham's Chairman's Series continued with the seventh leg being fished at New Barlows Lake at Tadley. Winner on the day was Paul Howard who alternated between the method feeder and the pole catching a mixed net including carp, bream roach and barbel for a total of 71lb 9oz. In second place was John Hobbs with 48lb 5oz consisting of carp to double figures and bream all landed on the pole with pellet and in third place was Niel Ried with 25lb 14oz of carp and skimmers caught on the pole with maggot.

 

22nd OCTOBER MILTON POOLS (CAMPBELL'S)

Geoff Edwards easily won this match with 191lb of carp fishing the pole short and on the inside with groundbait and red maggot. In second place was Steve Johnson with 93lb 5oz of carp landed on the pole at 5 metres and on the inside with pellet and in third place was ian Chaplin with 76lb 6oz of carp caught on the pole with red maggot.

 

29th OCTOBER WHITEHOUSE

Mark Harrison won the ninth leg of the Chairman's Trophy with 82lb 11oz of carp landed on the pole fished accross to the island with pellet. In second place was Geoff Edwards with 71lb 2oz and third was Paul Howard with 42lb 11oz.

 

5th NOVEMBER HOLME GRANGE

Geoff Edwards took maximum points in the tenth leg of the series as he alternated between the pole and feeder landing carp totalling 84lb 5oz. In second place was Paul Howard using similar tactics and weighing in 46lb 5oz and in third place was Mark Harrison with 32lb 13oz.

26th NOVEMBER MILTON POOLS (HOUSE)

The final match in the Remenham Chairman's Series took place at Milton Pools on House Lake and with the colder winter temperatures making the fishing much harder it was the silver fish stocks that were the main target. Winner on the day was Geoff Edwards who fished the pole at 13 metres with maggot and castor landing a mixed net of skimmers roach and perch for a total of 36lb 5oz. In second position was Steve Johnson with a similar net totalling 31lb landed on the pole at 14 metres with pellet and in third place was Justin York with 27lb 10oz which included a near double figure carp plus skimmers and roach all landed on the pole with red maggot.

Steve Johnson's second place ensured his place at the top of the points table winning the series with 181 points from Geoff Edwards in second with 173 and Roger Howard third with 153.

 

3rd DECEMBER HOLME GRANGE

The following week it was the first match of the winter series held at Holme Grange near Wokingham and once again it was Edwards and Johnson that lead the way with Johnson taking the honours on this occasion with 44lb 3oz consisting of 8 carp all landed on the method feeder with pellet. Edwards in second opted to fish for roach from the off putting 16lb 2oz of the in the net before switching to the method feeder towards the end of the match and landing 3 carp for 21lb 2oz for a total of 37lb 4oz and in third place was Ian Chaplin with 6 carp totalling 21lb 7oz landed on the method feeder with pellet.

17th  DECEMBER MILTON POOLS (HOUSE)

The third leg of the Remenham Winter Series was held on House Lake at Milton Pools and with a hard overnight frost all the anglers had to break the ice before the start of the match. Steve Johnson took the honours on the day with 31lb 15oz of skimmers and roach taken on the pole at 12 metres with pellet. Geoff Edwards finished in second position with 18lb 4oz of skimmers and roach landed on the pole with maggot and castor and in third place was Ian Chaplin with 14lb 4oz of skimmers roach and perch caught on the pole with maggot.

 

7th JANUARY 2018 HOLME GRANGE

The first match of the new year saw the 4th leg of the series held at Holme Grange near Wokingham with Neil Read landing 7 carp on the feeder and straight lead with pellet totaling 39lb 7oz to taking top spot. Paul Howard was in second position using similar tactics and landing 3 carp for 14lb 8oz just ahead of Steve Johnson in third with 14lb 3oz of carp.

 

14th JANUARY 2018 MILTON POOLS (HOUSE)

The fifth match in the Remenham Winter Series took place at Milton Pools with House Lake being fished. Geoff Edwards took top spot on this occasion with 55lb 14oz consisting of roach, skimmers and a near double figure carp all caught on the pole at 14 metres with pellet. In second place was Steve Johnson from the next peg with 34lb 5oz of skimmers and roach caught on the pole with pellet and in third position was Mark Harrison with 27lb of skimmers and roach.

 

28th JANUARY 2018 MILTON POOLS (CAMPBELL'S)

The following match also took place at Milton Pools but this time it was Campbell's Lake being fished. Winner on this occasion was Pete Bowles landing carp on the pole at 14 metres and on the inside with pellet and corn for a winning total of 55lb 2oz. In second place was Mark Harrison with 39lb 1oz of carp edging out Geoff Edwards into third with 35lb 12oz of carp both catching on the pole with pellet and maggot.

 

4th FEBRUARY SOKE ROAD

This match proved to be very hard going with seven of the eleven anglers failing to catch and the remaning four only registering one fish each! Winner on the day was Pete Bowles with a single carp weighing 4lb 4oz caught on the pole with maggot. In second place was Justin York also with a single carp weighing 4lb 2oz and in third was Paul Howard with a single carp weighing 3lb 10oz

 

11th  FEBRUARY MILTON POOLS (HOUSE)

Geoff Edwards easily won the latest match in the Remenham Winter Series fished on House lake Milton Pools. Edwards fished the pole short at 6 metres with maggot and castor catching small roach before switching to the long pole at 16 metres with pellet and depite the strong gusting winds landed good sized skimmers steadily weighing in 36lb 2oz. In second place was Steve Johnson with 19lb 5oz of skimmers and roach caught on the pole with pellet and in third place was Rodney Smith with 16lb 13oz consisting of skimmers , roach and a small carp.

 

18th FEBRUARY 2018 HOLME GRANGE

Holme Grange near Wokingham hosted Remenham's ninth leg of the Winter Series in bright but cold conditions. Pete Bowles landed seven carp alternating between the method feeder and bomb with pellet for a winning total of 23lb 12oz  just edging Steve Johnson into second place with 22lb of carp using similar tactics from the the next peg and in third place was Ade Bowles with two carp totaling 17lb caught on the method feeder

 

25th FEBRUARY MILTON POOLS (CAMPBELL'S)

Last Sunday the venue for the tenth match in the series was Milton Pools with Campbell's Lake being fished. Winner on this occasion was Ian Chaplin with 63lb 11oz of carp caught on the pole at 10 metres with pellet narrowly beating Pete Bowles into second spot with 60lb 12oz of carp caught at 14 metres on the pole with pellet down the edge with corn. And in third place was Steve Johnson with 38lb 2 oz of carp.

With two matches left in the series Johnson leads the points table with 148 points with Chaplin second with 121 Geoff Edwards third with 95 and Pete Bowles fourth with 93.

 

4th MARCH MILTON POOLS (CAMPBELL'S)

Cancelled due to weather conditions.

 

 

11th MARCH NEW BARLOWS

With the bad weather causing the cancellation of the previous weeks match, Remenham's season came to a close with the final leg of the winter series fished at New Barlows near Tadley. Pete Bowles fished the pole at 14 metres and at 9 metres with maggot and groundbait catching skimmers and quality roach to weigh in a winning total of 32lb 11oz. This was just ahead of Brian Bowles whose five method feeder caught carp weighed in at 30lb 12oz for second position and in third place was Steve Johnson with a mixed net including carp, chub, roach and skimmers totalling 22lb 14oz all caught on the pole with maggot.

Johnson retained his lead at the top of the points table to secure the winter league with 166 points ahead of Ian Chaplin in second with 137 points and Pete Bowles in third with 112 points.
