9th JUNE Medal Winners Final Milton Pools Cambells

Remenham's new season started on Sunday with the winners final held at on Cambells Lake at Milton Pools. Geoff Edwards was the comfortable winner fishing the pole shallow at 14 metres with pellet and also at 6 metres catching mainly carp weighing in at 146lb 7oz. In second place was Paul Howard with 98lb 8oz of carp landed on the pole at 4 metres with corn and meat and in third place was Steve Johnson with 89lb of carp caught on the pole with meat on the inside.

 

17 th JUNE Bowsaw 1-15

Rmenham's Summer Series began with the first leg being fished at Bowsaw Lake near Odiham. Pete Bowles fished the pole 10 metres along the nearside bank landing mostly carp for a winning weight of 135lb 3oz. In second place was Mark Harrison with 103lb 10oz of carp caught on the pole on the inside under an overhanging tree with maggot and corn and in third place was Ian Chaplin with 91lb 15oz of carp landed on the pole at 6 metres with corn.

 

24th JUNE  Cheriton Farm

The following week Cheriton Farm at Farley Hill hosted the second leg in the series and it was Geoff Edwards who took maximum points with an impressive 226lb 6oz of small carp caught shallow on the pole at both 14 metres and 7 metres with pellet and maggot. In second place was Steve Johnson with 195lb 1oz of carp fishing similar tactics to Geoff and in third place was Pete Bowles with 154lb of carp caught on the pole shallow and on the inside with meat and pellet.

 

1st JULY Tunnel Barn High Pool

Remenham anglers travelled to Shrewley in Warwickshire to fish Tunnel Barn Fishery for the third leg of the Summer Series a brand new venue for Remenham. The complex consists of nine lakes of which High Pool was  fished stocked with a variety of species including F1 carp, bream, tench, chub, carp etc. Pete Bowles targeted the F1 carp stocks fishing the pole shallow at 6 metres with pellet and also fishing across to the island and landing several larger common/mirror carp to weigh in a winning total of 141lb 8oz. In second place was Steve Johnson with 114lb 5oz of F1's and bream caught on the pole with pellet and in third place was Ian Chaplin with 73lb 8oz of F1's caught on the pole shallow at 6 metres with pellet.

 

8th JULY Soke Road

The following week Soke Road near Tadley was the venue for the fourth leg of the series. Winner on this occasion was Steve Johnson with 92lb 5oz of carp and bream caught mainly on the inside on the pole with groundbait and red maggot. In second place was Paul Howard with 64lb 9oz consisting of carp tench and bream caught on the pole with pellet and maggot and in third place was Neil Reid with 42lb 8oz of carp.

 

15th JULY Bowsaw 1-15

Geoff Edwards secured victory in the fifth leg of The Remenham Summer Series held on Bowsaw Lake near Odiham. After landing several carp on the method feeder Edwards then switched to the inside on the pole landing more carp on corn weighing in a total of 126lb 13oz . In second place was Ian Chaplin with 118lb 1oz of carp landed on both the method feeder and pole with pellet and in third place was Mark Harrison with 113lb 5oz of carp caught short on the pole with corn.

 

22nd JULY Milton Pools Cambells

The following week in the sixth leg it was Edwards again leading the way this time on Campbells Lake at Milton Pools with an impressive 293lb of small carp landed on the pole on the inside with red maggot. In second place was Steve Johnson landing carp on the pole short shallow and on the inside with pellet weighing in 223lb 10oz and in third place was Pete Bowles with 159lb 7oz of carp landed on the pole with meat.

 

29th JULY  Cheriton Farm

Remenham's Summer Series entered it's seventh leg held at Cheriton Farm at Farley Hill and once again it was Geoff Edwards who came out on top with an astonishing 303lb 7oz of small carp caught short on the pole and also on the inside with red maggot. In second place was Pete Bowles with a perfectly respectable 189lb 15oz of carp landed on the pole at 5 metres and on the inside with maggot and corn and in third place was Steve Johnson with 177lb 3oz of carp caught on the pole with pellet.

 

5th AUGUST Billhook  1-15

Last Sunday it was Billhook Lake near Odiham that provided the venue for the eighth leg of the series and it was the seemingly unstoppable Geoff Edwards who prevailed once again weighing in 129lb 11oz which consisted of a mixture of carp, bream, barbel, F1 carp and roach all caught on the pole at 6 metres and on the inside with pellet. In second place was Mark Harrison who caught several carp earley on on the method feeder before switching to the inside on the pole and landing more larger carp to double figures on corn for a total weight of 111lb 7oz and in third place was Justin York with 80lb 14 oz of carp caught short on the pole.

 

12th AUGUST  Tunnel Barn High Pool

Remenham continued their Summer Series with another trip to Tunnel Barn Fisheries in Warwickshire for the ninth leg of the series. Justin York secured his first win this season with 119lb 1oz of mainly F1 carp, a smaller hybrid carp especially bred for commercial fisheries like these,also adding a few carp and the odd barbel fishing shallow with pellet on the pole and across to the island. In second place was Pete Bowles using similar tactics also catching F1's and other carp weighing in 101lb 2oz and in third place was Steve Johnson with 99lb 7oz of F1's and carp.

 

19th  AUGUST Milton Pools Cambells

The following week Campbells Lake at Milton Pools provided the venue for the tenth leg in the series once again the resident carp were in good feeding mode as good weights were returned. Steve Johnson took full advantage of the conditions fishing the pole at 6 metres shallow with pellet and on the inside with pellet and corn to weigh in 291lb 4oz of small carp to gain victory, just less than 2lb short of beating the mark set by Geoff Edwards on the previous visit. In second place was Pete Bowles with 213lb 14oz of small carp caught on the pole shallow with pellet and across to the adjacent bank and in third place was Ian Chaplin with 156lb 4oz of small carp all landed on the pole shallow with pellet.

 

26th  AUGUST  Bowsaw 1-15

Remenham continued their Summer League with the eleventh leg held on Bowsaw Lake near Odiham and despite the heavy rain and wind catches were good on the day. Geoff Edwards resumed his winning ways as he returned, landing a few carp on the method feeder before switching to the pole at 6 metres and down the edge with corn and maggot landing carp to double figures to weigh in an impressive 254lb 15oz. In second place was Mark Harrison who fished the pole short from the off landing big carp on pellet and corn weighing in 209lb 8oz and in third place was Pete Bowles with 174lb 12oz of carp caught on the method feeder and on the pole with pellet.

 

2nd SEPTEMBER Tunnel Barn Jennys Pool

The following week the twelfth leg was fished at Tunnel Barn Fishery in Warwickshire with Jenny's Pool being fished. Once again it was Geoff Edwards who took the honours fishing the pole shallow at 6 metres with maggot landing F1's and carp and also on the inside with groundbait and maggot weighing in a winning total of 139lb 3oz. In second place was Steve Johnson also fishing the pole shallow with pellet and corn on the inside catching carp and F1's weighing in 111lb 15oz and in third place was Mark Bowerman with 75lb 1oz.

Despite Edwards winning every match he has fished, missed matches sees him down the points table with just one match to go as Pete Bowles leads the way with 184 points Justin York in second with 166 points Ian Chaplin third 164 points all from 10 matches fourth Steve Johnson 152 points from eight matches fifth Brian Bowles 145 from 10 matches sixth Geoff Edwards 140 from 7 matches.

 

9th SEPTEMBER  Billhook 16-29

Remenham's final match in the Summer Series at Billhook Lake near Odiham was once again dominated by Geoff Edwards as he weighed in 122lb 3oz of carp skimmers and F1s the majority caught on the pole at 5 metres with maggot and corn. In second place was Mark Bowerman with 92lb 8oz consisting of carp skimmers and F1s landed on the pole at 13 metres and on the inside with pellet and corn and in third place was Pete Bowles with 72lb of carp caught on the method feeder and on the pole at 5 metres with meat.

Bowles's third place was enough to secure first place in the series with 202 points with Justin York in second with 180 Ian Chaplin third 178 points Geoff Edwards fourth 160 points Brian Bowles in fifth with 157 points and Steve Johnson 152 points making up the top six.

 

16th  SEPTEMBER Whitehouse

Last Sunday Whitehouse Lake at Tadley provided the venue for the first leg of the Chairman's Trophy.  Despite low water levels Mark Harrison found the resident carp and bream feeding well as he fished the pole short at 4 metres with corn catching steadily through the match weighing in a winning total of 122lb 9oz. This was well ahead of second placed Brian Bowles with 69lb 6oz of carp and skimmers landed on the method feeder with pellet and in third place was Steve Johnson with 52lb 9oz of carp and bream caught on the pole.

 

30th  SEPTEMBER Milton Pools Cambells

Remenham's Chairman' Series continued at Milton Pools with Cambells Lake being Fished. Winner on the day was Geoff Edwards who fished the pole shallow with pellet at 14 metres catching carp before switching to the inside with maggot and continuing to catch carp to weigh in 154lb 9oz. In second place was Justin York with 109lb consisting of small carp landed on the pole short with maggot and corn and in third place was Steve Johnson with 107lb 2oz of carp landed on the pole with pellet and meat.

 

14th OCTOBER Bowsaw 1-15

Bowsaw Lake near Odiham provided the venue on Sunday as the series continued with Justin York taking top spot by the narrowest of margins as he weighed in 130lb 15oz of carp landed on both the method feeder and the pole on the inside with maggot.In second place was Ade Bowles with 130lb 6oz of carp landed on the pole with maggot and meat and in third place was Mark Harrison with 122lb 12oz of carp.

 

21st  OCTOBER Tunnel Barn High Pool

High Pool at Tunnel Barn Farm Fishery provided the venue for the sixth leg of Remenham Angling's Chairman's Trophy with the anglers enjoying a gloriously warm and sunny late October day. Steve Johnson landed F1 carp on the pole at 6 metres as well as across to the island and down the edge with pellet and maggot to weigh in a winning total of 96lb 10 oz. In second place was Neil Read with 68lb 5oz of F1's and carp caught on both the method feeder and pole with pellet and in third place was Justin York with 24lb 4oz of F1's landed on the pole with pellet.

 

28th OCTOBER Milton Pools Cambells

On Sunday it was Cambells Lake at Milton Pools that was fished in the seventh leg of the series in much more winterey conditions. Geoff Edwards landed carp on the pole at 13 metres and on the inside with pellet and maggot weighing in 121lb 11oz comfortably winning the match. In second place was Ian Chaplin with 73lb of carp landed on the pole at 6 metres with corn and maggot and in third place was Mark Harrison with 68lb 5oz of carp caught on the pole at 12 metres and down the edge with maggot and corn.

 

4th NOVEMBER Holme Grange

This proved to be a very hard match with the resident carp in no mood to feed with only a handful being caught. Geoff Edwards landed 2 carp on bomb with pellet and also added 10lb of roach on the pole with maggot for a modest 20lb 5oz for top spot. In second place was Mark Harrison with carp and roach taken on the pole and feeder weighing in 14lb 12oz and in third place was Ian Chaplin with 2 carp for 10lb 14 oz caught on the method feeder with corn.

 

11th NOVEMBER Whitehouse

The ninth leg of the Remenham Chairman's series took place at Whitehouse Lake near Tadley with Geoff Edwards taking top spot with 56lb 4oz consisting of carp, skimmers and tench landed on the pole at 6 metres and also across to the island with pellet and maggot. In second place was Justin York with a mixed catch of 24lb all caught on the pole with corn and maggot and in third place was Mark Harrison with 11lb11oz.

 

18th NOVEMBER Milton Pools House Lake

It was Edwards who once again reigned supreme as House Lake at Milton Pools was fished for the first time this season by Remenham in the tenth leg of the series. Fishing the pole at 16 metres with pellet Edwards landed skimmers steadily throughout the match and added 4 bonus carp to weigh in 48lb 10oz. In second position was Ian Chaplin with 31lb 2oz consisting of skimmers and 1 carp landed on the pole at 13 metres with red maggot over groundbait and in third place was Mark Harrison with 18lb 2oz of carp and skimmers landed on the pole.

 

2nd DECEMBER Milton Pools Lens Lake

Geoff Edwards was once again triumphant as the Remenham Chairman's Series continued at Milton Pools with the eleventh leg being fished on Lens Lake. Edwards fished the pole at 6 metres with maggot landing 56lb of roach along with the odd perch whilst adding a few small carp on the feeder to weigh in a total of 65lb 7oz. In second place was Ian Chaplin with 42lb 8oz consisting of small carp and skimmers caught on the method feeder with corn and in third place was Neil Reed with 31lb 4oz of carp skimmers and roach caught on the pole and method feeder.

 

9th  DECEMBER Milton Pools House Lake

The following week it was Milton Pools once again but with House Lake being fished in the twelfth and last leg of the series.With very windy conditions fishing the pole was almost impossible at times and most of the anglers opted to fish the feeder for significant parts of the match, Geoff Edwards landed 2 carp early on in the day on the method feeder and also adding skimmers and roach on the pole at 14 metres before landing another late carp to weigh in a winning total of 32lb 7oz which also saw him win the series in which he has won every match he has entered this season. In second place was Roger Howard with 1 carp plus skimmers and roach all caught on the pole at 11 metres and in third place was Justin York with 13lb 3oz.

Chairman's Series final points Geoff Edwards 160 Mark Harrison 158 Ian Chaplin 156 Brian Bowles 148 and Justin York 143 making up the top 5

 

16th DECEMBER Holme Grange

Once again the resident carp were few and far between with only 2 anglers recording weights on the day. Steve Johnson landed 2 carp on the bomb with pellet and added roach to weigh in 21lb 12oz for a comfortable win ahead of Ian Chaplin with 1 single carp for 5lb 1oz

 

23rd DECEMBER Tunnel Barn Extension

Remenham's Winter Series continued with the second leg fished at Tunnel Barn Farm on Extension Pool where it was Pete Bowles who came out on top with 47lb 14oz of skimmers and f1 carp caught mostly on the pole at 14 metres with maggot and pellet. In second place was Geoff Edwards fishing similar tactics weighing in 31lb 8oz of skimmers and f1's and in third place was Steve Johnson with 20lb 6oz.

 

30th  DECEMBER Holme Grange

The following week saw the third match in the series fished at Holme Grange Fishery near Wokingham in which it was a case of wether to fish for carp on the feeder or target the roach on the pole. Justin York opted to fish the pole short for roach catching them steadily through the match on red maggot after the method feeder yielded no bites early on, weighing in 29lb 3oz which proved to be enough for victory narrowly beating Ian Chaplin who's 6 method feeder caught carp weighed in at 28lb and in third place was Pete Bowles with an all roach net of 26lb 9ooz caught on the pole with maggot.

 

6th JANUARY Milton Pools House Lake

Geoff Edwards got back to winning ways as he dominated the latest match in the series with 62lb 15oz consisting of 2 carp and skimmers to 2lb caught on the pole at 16 metres with maggot and soft pellet. In second place was Justin York with 33lb 9oz made up with 1 carp plus skimmers landed on the pole with pellet and in third position was Pete Bowles with 23lb 3oz

 

13th JANUARY Whitehouse

Neil Reed was a narrow victor in the fifth match in the Remenham Winter Series fished at Whitehouse Lake at Tadley. Reed fished the pole at 14 metres with worm and maggot landing a mixture of carp and bream totaling 24lb 5oz edging Mark Harrison into second position with his mixed net of 23lb 14oz caught on the pole at 13 metres with pellet and maggot. Third place went to Justin York with an all carp catch of 19lb 6oz taken on the method feeder.

 

20th JANUARY Milton Pools Lens Lake

Lens Lake at Milton Pools provided the venue for the sixth leg of the series and with a hard overnight frost half of the lake had a layer of ice so some anglers had to break or cut the ice before fishing. Winner on this occasion was Mark Bowerman who fished the pole across to what remained of the central lilly pads landing carp, skimmers , roach ,perch and tench on maggot and pellet totalling 34lb 9oz. In second place was Geoff Edwards with 25lb 14 oz of skimmers and roach caught on the pole with maggot and in third place was Mark Harrison with 22lb 8oz of carp skimmers and roach landed on the pole with maggot.

 

27th JANUARY Milton Pools Cambells

Remenham's Winter series continued with a victory for Steve Johnson on Campbells Lake at Milton Pools in the seventh match in the series.Johnson landed small carp steadily through the match on the pole at both 14 and 5 metres with pellet and maggot weighing in a total of 75lb 8oz. Second place went to Ian Chaplin from the next peg with 61lb 2oz of carp caught on the pole at 5 metres with corn and in third place was Pete Bowles with 51lb 13oz of carp .

 

3rd FEBRUARY cancelled bad weather(frozen)

 

10th FEBRUARY Milton Pools House Lake

Geoff Edwards took top spot on this occasion in very wet and windy conditions with 59lb 14oz consisting of skimmers and roach plus a bonus carp all caught on the pole at 16 metres with maggot and soft pellet. In second place was Justin York with 32lb 14oz of skimmers, roach and perch landed on the pole with maggot and pellet with third place going to Steve Johnson with 23lb 13oz.  

 

17th FEBRUARY Soke Road

This match proved to be very tough going with 3 anglers failing to catch at all. Winner on the day was Steve Johnson with a modest 12lb consisting of just 3 carp landed on the pole short with bread and pellet. In second place was Justin York whose 1 carp and 1 skimmer plus some tiny perch caught on the pole came to 7lb 13oz and in third place was Ade Bowles with 1 carp of 1lb 8oz.

 

24th FEBRUARY Milton Pools Lens Lake

Remenham continued their Winter Series in glorious sunny conditions as they fished Lens Lake at Milton Pools in the eleventh leg of the series. Geoff Edwards weighed in 51lb exactly consisting of roach and skimmers as well as 2 small carp all caught on the pole at 6 and 14 metres with pellet and maggot which was enough to take top spot on the day. Second position went to Steve Johnson with a similar net totalling 41lb all caught on the pole with pellet and in third place was Justin York with 32lb15oz.

 

3rd MARCH Whitehouse

The following week conditions were totally different with strong winds and driving rain as the twelfth leg was fished at Whitehouse Lake at Tadley. Mark Harrison found carp on the inside landing several on the pole with maggot weighing in a winning total of 39lb 4oz. In second place was Ade Bowles with 31lb 3oz of carp mostly landed on the pole across to the island with pellet and in third place was Pete Bowles with 27lb 7oz of carp including an unusual 10lb grass carp all landed on the pole with pellet.

 

10th MARCH Milton Pools Cambells

Remenham's season came to a close as the last of the winter series was fished on Campbell's Lake at Milton Pools on Sunday in blustery condition. Pete Bowles fished the pole short at 6 metres with meat and pellet landing carp plus a few skimmers weighing in a winning total of 101lb 3oz. Second position went to Steve Johnson with 91lb 1oz of carp landed on the pole with meat and pellet at 6 metres and down the inside and in third place was Ian Chaplin with 60lb 15oz of carp caught on the pole at 5 metres with corn and pellet.

Johnson's second position cemented his place at the top of the points table winning the series with 183 points ahead of Justin York in second with 162 Pete Bowles and Ian Chaplin tying for third with 160 points and Mark Harrison in fifth with 132 points.
